Soccer Teams Travel to BC

The U13 and Senior teams went to Vancouver and Victoria for the CAIS soccer tournament, where they had some valuable bonding time training and sightseeing. Hear from some Junior and Senior boys what they thought about spending time together!
“Spending the first couple of days in Vancouver with the U13 soccer team allowed everyone to form bonds that couldn’t be made otherwise. As someone who started playing soccer with the school in Grade 7, I know what some of the Junior players are feeling. Unfortunately, when I started in Grade 7, I didn’t go on this trip and it’s one of my biggest greatest regrets.
Being able to come on this trip once as a Senior is great because it’s a great opportunity to meet and bond with people that we would never really have the chance to meet. Plus, sitting down at a Canucks game with a Junior School student is something that I hope marks a great start for the Junior soccer team’s week!”

“Working with the U13 team allowed the Seniors to form relationships that will continue into the school year. During training, we helped the Juniors with simple skills and positioning to help them improve their game and at the same time, prepared for our own soccer-filled week.

On our walk to Stanley Park for our first practice, we left a divided group of individuals. But after spending time playing in heated and competitive games, we all came to know lots more about each other. After the long, fun games we headed back to the hotel united. The first few days were extremely fun with the Juniors and I hope it was equally fun for them. It has reminded me how sport can unite us all.”

“Given the limited time we had to practice, we enjoyed learning from them.”

“Hanging out with the Senior boys was a lot of fun and comforting.” - Ben Davison, Class of 2023
