Now in its 62nd year, the Service of Lessons and Carols is held at St. James Cathedral, one of Toronto’s foremost Anglican churches. It is one of the College’s most anticipated and cherished community events. The service follows the format of the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, a tradition originating from King’s College, Cambridge in 1918. Together, it recounts the story leading to the birth of Jesus Christ, from Genesis to the Gospels. The service serves as an expression of some long-standing traditions of the College.
Royal St. George's College is an independent school for boys located in The Annex neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Our mission is to challenge and inspire each of our students to become the best version of himself.
