Our Crest and Arms

The RSGC Crest

Our crest references the history, values, and distinct identity of Royal St. George’s College. It is seen throughout the school, including an historic woodcut at the top of the main stairs of See House. It has been featured on the student blazers and ties worn with the number one uniform since the school was founded in 1961.

The Arms, Flag and Badges of Royal St. George’s College

A grant of arms from the Canadian Governor General is an official honor granted by the Canadian Heraldic Authority (CHA), operating under the authority of the Governor General. RSGC’s heraldry includes a coat of arms, a flag, and badges representing the school as well as the four houses. The elements were created by Bruce Patterson, Deputy Chief Herald of Canada, assisted by the heralds of the Canadian Heraldic Authority. It was painted by Debra MacGarvie with calligraphy by Shirley Mangione.
