Musical Arts

The core music program at RSGC is designed to cultivate a deep appreciation for music, while building the foundational skills that support lifelong engagement.
Our youngest Geogians (Grades 3-6) explore the elements of music through voice, ukulele and Orff programming (an approach that combines music, movement and drama and speech that are similar to the world of children’s play).

In grades 7 and 8, all students learn the guitar in their core music class and have the option to choose their own Performing Arts Elective, selecting from the College Choir, Concert Band, or Drama & Songwriting, enriching their musical journey while also instilling discipline and teamwork.

College Choir
Our College Choir is central to our tradition and is deeply embedded in our school’s DNA.  Students learn foundational singing techniques and rehearsal skills through ensemble performance. Along with the many opportunities to perform throughout the school year, the College Choir sings at our weekly Evensong services and is featured in each year’s Service of Lessons and Carols.

Concert Band
Concert Band students participate in a rehearsal process to prepare repertoire for performances throughout the year. Students choose their instrument, with support from their teacher, and along with developing their musical talents they learn collaborative skills, playing within a large ensemble.
