Every Georgian (students and adults alike) is assigned to one of our four Houses: Canterbury (red), Winchester (yellow), Westminster (white), and York (blue). Students earn House points by participating in a broad range of co-curricular activities, including clubs, sports teams, drama productions, debating, music, food and book drives, and House league games. In February, we celebrate House spirit with Spirit Week.
Junior School
In the Junior School, the House System is a cornerstone of student life, fostering school spirit, collaboration, and cross-grade connection. Students are placed in one of four Houses upon arrival at RSGC, and they remain in that House throughout their time at the school.
Throughout the year, boys participate in a variety of House events and a spirit week which includes athletic challenges, arts-based activities, and community-building games, promoting teamwork, friendly competition, and school-wide engagement. House points are awarded for participation, effort, sportsmanship, and leadership in these events.
The House Cup, awarded at the Junior School Graduation Ceremony in June, recognizes the House that has earned the most points throughout the year. The collective spirit and camaraderie that emerge from the House experience are an important part of each boy’s journey at RSGC.
