Georgian Unity Fund
Early in this new reality, I made a commitment to do whatever I could to ensure that our Georgian family stay together despite the downturn in the economy and the financial uncertainty for so many of our families.
My goal was to ensure that none of our boys were unable to continue at the College because of the financial hardship brought on by this global event.
As we anticipated, we realized an increased need for student financial aid.
It is for this reason that in June, we created the Georgian Unity Fund. This fund focuses on tuition assistance for current families who have been impacted by changes in the economy and require financial support to continue to be able to have their sons attend the College.
Many of you generously donated your credits for unused lunch and student activity fees. The appeal was also shared with the broader RSGC community and, to date, we have raised close to $84,000. This total has been doubled by the generosity of an anonymous RSGC family who offered a matching gift challenge up to $100,000.
Your generous and immediate response to the Georgian Unity Fund allowed us to address a 38% increase in student financial aid requests. This fund was created to ensure that none of our boys were unable to continue at the College because of the financial hardship brought on by this global pandemic.
Never has the “heartbeat” of the College been so evident – the outpouring of support, kind words and acts from our extended RSGC community has made a major impact on where we find ourselves today. We know that we never stand alone. Thank you.
