Mental Health at RSGC: Mental Health Education

There are many opportunities throughout the year for Mental Health Education to be embedded into the school day.
In fact, much of the mental health programming has been folded right into the Phys Ed. Curriculum, allowing all grades the opportunity to meet with Danielle and Andrea. In the Junior School, Danielle runs several in-class workshops, highlighting topics such as empathy, anxiety management, masculinity and general mental health discussions. She uses methods like role play, expressive arts therapy, group work and/or mindfulness-based practice in order to improve engagement and creativity with the boys.

There are also many opportunities where the older students speak to younger students, either formally or informally. Through panels or informal conversations, the older boys support the younger ones by normalizing adolescent struggle.
