Making Apple Pie Waffles from Brunch Life with Matt Basile

Matt Basile has been one of our most popular Petits Chefs guests over the past six years since the first time he welcomed the boys into Lisa Marie and became known as “the deep fried pizza guy."

So when Matt announced last year that after six very successful years, Lisa Marie restaurant would be closing so they could focus on other projects, I wondered if we would ever cook with him again? Fortunately, Matt is always up for an adventure and we have welcomed him into the STEM lab twice since then! This week we worked from the “Pancakes, Waffles and French Toast” chapter in Matt’s latest book, Brunch Life and made “Apple Pie Waffles” – essentially a puff pastry apple pie made in a waffle maker.
