It is through the generosity of the Georgian Community – alumni, alumni parents, parents, grandparents and friends of the College – that we are able to give boys the experience of a lifetime. Enriching programs in academics, music, art, drama and athletics help make for a well-rounded education that leads to a successful future.

Your generosity allows us to continue to make the Georgian experience the best it can be and accomplish our goals as a College. There are many ways you can support RSGC. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any questions.

“Never have we understood the importance of human connection like we have this past year.”

From the Headmaster

A Message from Stephen Beatty '86, Headmaster and father of Jack, Class of 2022 and Finn, Class of 2025

I’m certain that many of us have questioned our decisions about who we spend time with and how we spend that time. Questions that make us think about where we belong and why it matters so much to us.

The answers to these questions have never been clearer to me. I want to be here on campus with our boys, our teachers and our school community, and I know that this is also where our boys belong. I want to be able to have face-to-face conversations, understand what our boys are thinking and feeling, and guide them to becoming the best versions of themselves. This is one of the greatest privileges of being a Headmaster – the ability to connect with others on a daily basis and building a stronger community where we feel that we all belong.

Today, I ask for your financial support of the College – funds to strengthen our community and allow us to continue to make meaningful connections with our boys, our alumni and our community as a whole.

Click here to see how your gift made a profound impact last year and allowed the College to pivot quickly to make the needed adjustments for the return to class this fall. Thank you for continuing to support the College. Your gifts as parents and members of the community help us to continue a long-standing tradition of funding enhancements to the College’s facilities and programs.

Gratefully,

Stephen Beatty '86

  • Headmaster’s Initiatives

WELLNESS takes many forms, from mental and emotional well-being to keeping our physical bodies healthy and strong. This includes work with our students focused on sexual citizenship and consent. A variety of mental health initiatives for our entire community will be funded, as well as the refurbishment of our turf’s surface to ensure it is functional all year round.

PREPAREDNESS: The lessons learned from the past year taught us that we must be prepared to act quickly as our external environment changes. From technology enhancements to facility upgrades, our Headmaster's Initiatives allow us to quickly and decisively respond to keep our boys learning and our community safe.

BELONGING: These initiatives reinforce, deepen and increase the understanding and experience of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging for members of the RSGC community. As well as funding scholarships and bursaries, this will include a curriculum audit, student leadership opportunities, all-school professional development and guest speakers.
  • Manners Maketh Men Scholarship and Bursary Fund

The College continues to focus on the funding of scholarships for deserving boys who would otherwise not be able to afford an RSGC education. Named in honour of our founding Headmaster Dr. J.L. Wright, who proffered the “Manners Maketh Men” credo, this Fund will allow RSGC to offer admission to the best boys from all background, including students who would be an excellent fit for the RSGC family, but are unable to afford an independent school education. This year, six boys receiving financial aid have qualified for full tuition and related expenses; the most full-tuition scholars in the College’s recent history.
  • Georgian Opportunity Fund

It has always been in the character of the College to provide for boys who deserve a world-class education. Scholarships help many young boys who would be an excellent fit for the RSGC family and who embody our “Manners Maketh Men” values become the exceptional leaders of our future. Scholarships truly make a difference.

The Georgian Opportunity Fund provides up to 100% tuition support to deserving boys from Grades 7-12 and includes:

    • Up to 100% tuition
    • Uniform
    • Books
    • School trips and extracurricular expenses
    • Laptop
    • TTC fare
    • Daily lunch
  • Next Generation Georgian Fund

This endowment fund was established to allow the College to become more financially accessible for our alumni families. This needs-based financial aid is available to all eligible children of alumni applying to Grades 7-12. Eligibility is assessed through a third-party organization such as Apple Financial Services and reviewed with the Bursary Committee of the College.
  • Class of '71 Leaders of Tomorrow Fund

The Class of '71 Legacy Fund was established to support the College's financial aid endowment to ensure that our student body always includes students with special talents from all walks of life, continuously enhancing the quality of an RSGC educational experience for every student. To commemorate this Class's 50th anniversary in 2021, these funds have been redirected to create Class of '71 Leaders of Tomorrow Fund. The purpose of this fund echoes the sentiment of Jack Wright, the College's first Headmaster, who taught that "to whom much is given much is expected." We believe the ethical values RSGC works to instill and foster in its students are an excellent foundation for future Canadian leaders.
  • Timothy Magee ’95 Memorial Fund

This fund was established by members of the Classes of ’94 and '95 in memory of their friend Tim Magee '95 for the purpose of supporting student, alumni and faculty Mental Health initiatives at the College. At RSGC, we are committed to consciously building joy at RSGC. Mental health is a critical part of well-being and must be integrated into everyday life at the College. Our wellness initiatives will include speakers and outreach opportunities, increased presence of social workers and other mental health professionals, and community building activities designed to build joy and laughter into the school day. We continue to strive to implement the best in-school practice for adolescent mental health. A plaque in Tim’s honour has been placed on a newly constructed bench near the Chapel to serve as a place to go for reflection and quiet conversation with a friend.
