The Guild Library

The Guild Library is located on the 3rd floor of the Senior School. The primary focus of the library is to meet the research needs of staff and students at RSGC, and to encourage a life-long love of reading.

The Library is open to students throughout the day for the purpose of research and quiet study. The Library computer lab provides students with access to computers before and after school in addition to regular school hours. Library staff are available to assist students in using computer technology.

Resources include print and non-print materials and computerized access to information. The Library subscribes to a number of electronic research tools which, along with the Library catalogue, can be accessed from any networked computer in the Junior and Senior School buildings. The library has a resource board on the Portal, available to all students and staff.

The Dragon's Lair

The Dragon’s Lair Shoppe is RSGC’s on-site school store, stocked with everything to meet your sons’ needs. The store carries a competitively priced selection of school items including blazers, grey flannel pants, belts, dress shirts, socks and all school-crested clothing. Additionally, the Dragon’s Lair offers selected school supplies, reeds for woodwind instruments and gifts. All net proceeds resulting from Dragon’s Lair sales are put toward improvements at RSGC.

Technology at RSGC

At RSGC, we use technology as a learning tool integrated into students’ daily work. In order to facilitate the learning, we provide iPads for boys in Grades 3-5 and laptops for boys in Grade 6. These are always available in the classroom, but do not go home with the boys. In Grades 7-12, families purchase an Apple MacBook Pro, which the boys use both at school and at home.

We also offer a robust service department, licensed to perform repairs under warranty. If students require repair or maintenance work on their laptops, they come to our in-house IT office, where we address the problem as quickly as possible and get them back to class with a working machine. If necessary, we equip the student with a temporary loaner laptop, in most cases containing all of their documents and resources from their own device.

TTC Ticket Program

We encourage the use of public transit to and from school. Our central location allows for easy access via the TTC, with the Bathurst, Spadina, St. George and Dupont stations all just a short walk away. To help offset the cost of using transit, we offer TTC tickets at a heavily reduced cost.

Lunch Program

Many of our students enjoy the convenience of the RSGC Lunch Program. Almost 100% of the Junior School is enrolled in the program and we strongly recommend it for Grade 9 students as well, since they must stay on campus during lunch. Students in Grade 10 and up can also be accommodated if they wish to enrol. Our team works with a dietician to ensure a balanced and nutritious diet, while a three-week menu rotation offers plenty of variety. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are always available. The cost of the full year program is approximately $1,200.

Aftercare Program

The RSGC Aftercare program is designed to provide a stimulating environment for boys with various skills and interests. Our Aftercare Coordinator, Kaitlyn Saunders, provides the boys with an exciting, caring and structured environment where they receive assistance with academics and are encouraged to develop themselves further – all while having fun!
